Leyla Aliyeva was not only the first child of the Azerbaijani president and is an active participant in a wide range of causes, which includes the environment. A lot of people aren't aware the meaning of environmental education is but for her, it's always been a priority. Ambassador of Goodwill for FAO

Azerbaijan has joined FAO in October of 1995. In the present, the FAO implements international, national and regional projects in Azerbaijan that focus on the growth of agriculture, strengthening food security and managing resources, expanding potential, fighting against plant and animal diseases, and more. Furthermore, these projects are assisted by technical cooperation programs that address the urgent requirements of Azerbaijan.

In the year 2015, FAO general director, Jose Graziano da Silva visited Azerbaijan and during the visit, two agreements were signed. "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on the creation of the Coordination and Cooperation Office and offering technical assistance" and the " Agreement on FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Program". Agreeing to cooperate in general matters The partnership program imbodies the already active contributions of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan to projects that provide technical assistance on the development of foreign and local agriculture.
