Minecraft Realms Vs. Minecraft Server Hosting

I know many people may be wondering how Realms compares to Minecraft server hosting, what features Realms has, or even what the heck realms is! I will provide more information on Realms and whether Realms really is worth the money.



What is Minecraft Realms? Minecraft Realms is basically server hosting that Mojang (creators and creators of Minecraft) has created so that family and friends can play in the same world.



Minecraft Realms pros:



Minecraft Realms has a bunch of great features that make it really easy to use! minecraft server list First, click just 3 buttons to create your survival world. Realms also allows for you to play a few Minigames. This takes only a few clicks and you are ready for your friends to join you. Another very useful feature is the automatic backing up of your world. This could come in handy if you get buried under lava or a person grieves your house. You can also edit various things on your Realm such as the name, the gamemode and difficulty, as well as the description. You can also check how much time is left on your server before your subscription ends by pressing one button. Realms can be used in a few clicks.



Minecraft Realms Cons



There are many great things about Minecraft Realms. But there are also many downsides. First, there is no world editing. You dont get to choose super-flat, extra-biomes, or anything. It just throws you into a normal Minecraft world. While you can use commands on your world, command blocks are not yet allowed, so the making of server management machines cannot be done. Another problem with Minecraft Realms is players. You can only invite 20 people to your world. However you can only have 10 players at once. Although I like the minigame maps, I wish they had more. Currently they have 5 minigames: Cake Defense 2, Blocks vs. Zombies, The Walls, Autospleef, and Dash of Doom. These minigames are fun, but they can get old pretty quick. My friends and I would be entertained for hours if we had a wide variety of minigames. Another problem I see is the price. While 13 dollars (8 euros) may not seem like a lot, it is a good amount more than what minecraft server hosts offer. Realms lacks some features that make Minecraft extra fun.



Overview: Realms works well if you want to have a simple world with your friends. It is not recommended if you plan to make a server that will make money or host large numbers of players. It is also very useful if your server skills are not great. You can easily modify things by clicking a few buttons. Realms isn’t the right place for you if you want a large server.
