Unless you opt to, you won’t be charged.

Next, we need to create an virtual machine to run our Server

Fill in the fields as shown

Now, scroll down to the 'Image and shape' section. Make sure that "Canonical Ubuntu 20.04" is selected, then check that the shape is set to AMD VM.Standard.E2.1.Micro

Note: the shape preset may not support ubuntu, if so, simply switch the shape to the one shown and then change the Image.

Next, we need to choose a virtual network (VCN). If you already have an existing VCN with a public subnet, choose that. If not, select 'Create a new virtual cloud network'. Next, choose Create A Public Subnet' and accept default names. Finally, make sure that 'Assign a public IPv4 address' is selected (otherwise you couldn't connect to this server from the internet! ).

Now, we need to associate this VM with an "SSH key pair". If you are familiar with the concept and have a public keys that you wish to use, click 'Upload public keys files' and upload your publickey. If this is your first time using SSH keys, these keys will allow you securely log in to the server. Click 'Generate SSH key pair' and save your private and public keys to your local machine. We'll use these in just a bit to log in to the VM.

Your Private Key will be used to log in later, so don't forget it.

Leave the default boot volume values and click Create'.

Click 'Create' to be redirected the VM details pages. Your VM instance is now in a PROVISIONING condition.

After 30-60 seconds or so, the state will switch to RUNNING . Find your public IP address and copy it.

Next, we will open ports so players can access the server.

Next, click Add Ingress Rules

We need to connect to our VM remotely in order to install the Minecraft software. I recommend you to learn about SSH if you don't know what it is.

Powershell can be used to connect to Windows if you are using windows, which is most likely. Open Powershell. Type this: ssh --i (file path of your private key). ubuntu@[VM ip]

BEFORE: Doing this make sure you research how to protect you private key file, because it will not work otherwise.

This is how it looks when you log into your vm successfully

Next, you will need multiple programs installed to get started.

Run these commands:

sudo apat-get install firewalld

These commands will enable firewall access and screen to ensure that your server is running after you have finished it.

Next, you will need to enter powershell during the ssh session.

sudo firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-port=19132/tcp

sudo firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-port=19132/udp

sudo firewall-cmd --reload

Then:

sudo su - Minecraft

mkdir Bedrock

wget https://minecraft.azureedge.net/bin-linux/bedrock-server-1.17.2.01.zip -O server.zip

unzip server.zip

rm server.zip

If necessary visit https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock and check the latest download link and substitute it.

Then run these commands:

chmod +x./bedrock_server

This last command will launch your server:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./bedrock_server

You can now connect to your server using the VM's IP, and the standard port, the name is unimportant.

The server will also stop when you close the terminal. To stop it, you need to type "stop" or close the window and then log back in.

cd Bedrock

Enter the following:

Next, run this command: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./bedrock_server

You should now have a functioning bedrock server, with 1 gb ram, and 1 xenon core, good for atleast 20 players. Motorsnmore You can do this for a Java server by following this link.
