The new Minecraft launcher is now available to download and install following the release of snapshot 21w44a.
Mojang's famous video game remains extremely popular and the good news is that its Java Edition has joined Xbox Game Pass for November. Microsoft loyalists are in for a treat as Forza San Andreas Remastered and Forza Horizon5 join the subscription service's libraries.
Xbox Game Pass users now have the option to get the Java Edition for no cost, but PC players can download an update.

How to download and install the new Minecraft launcher
The new Minecraft launcher can only be downloaded on Windows 10 after the May 2019 update, or Windows 11.
It's completely free and is available to get from the Microsoft store. It allows you to launch the Java Edition base game and Dungeons all from the same location.
However, there are some caveats you need to be aware of. Story Mode will not be available through the launcher as it's no longer supported, and the Education Edition is its own thing that needs to be downloaded.
How to install a new Minecraft Launcher
Mojang suggests that you install the Minecraft launcher on your Drive.
You don't need to uninstall or delete an older version to get the newer one. You can update the older version if you have it.
If you are unsure whether you have the Unified version or the new Windows version, open Settings and select About. For more information, visit Mojang's FAQ.
