Rockstar Games made an announcement on Twitter earlier today that they would temporarily shut down Red Dead Online and GTA Online servers in support of Black Lives Matter as well as George Floyd.
Black Lives Matter. Today, 6/4/20 at 2:00-4 p.m., we will be honoring George Floyd's legacy. ET: We will stop access to our online games, Grand Theft Auto Online (and Red Dead Online) at 2:00 p.m. ET
Servers will be shutting down between 2pm ET (7pm BST) & 4pm ET (9pm BST). Wowwiki Rockstar went on to share a link to CharityNavigator.org, highlighting charities known for the civil rights actions.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, all game studios owned by Take-Two interactive will also be shutting down their online services during this time.
Update: We were informed by Take-Two that all Take-Two labels will be closing down their online games during this period - including games from Rockstar 2K and Social Point. Private Division will also suspend activities.
