流鏑馬（やぶさめ）是日本的一種騎射藝術，射手策馬於2町（約218公尺）的直線上奔馳，同時持和弓連續向左邊的標靶射擊。流鏑馬在古代原是一種騎射演習，後來逐漸變化為武士競技武藝的一種形式。在騎射三物中，雖然流鏑馬的難度不是最高，但因為江戶時代的將軍德川吉宗曾經指示武術流派小笠原流的小笠原貞政制定出一套完整的作法，所以流鏑馬的各種實施規則最為完整嚴謹，予人較為正式的觀感。不過流鏑馬的流派不只小笠原流，武田流的流鏑馬也流傳至今。現在流鏑馬多作為神社舉行神事時的儀式之一，在日本各地均能見到。
犬追物（いぬおうもの）是以弓仗作為丈量工具，以半徑七十仗圍成馬場，並以竹製圍籬圍住。射手則乘於馬上，以矢追射犬匹分其勝負。射手以十二騎為一組，分上、中、下三手行射，而正式儀式上馬場內約有犬匹一百五十隻。就史料記載而言，此儀式始於後堀河天皇貞應元年二月六日（西元1223年）於宮廷舉行，其後盛行於公家之間。但在應仁之亂後亦隨著亂世而中斷。直至江戶時代元和八年（西元1623年）因大名島津光久而再次興起，並盛行於世。時至明治，十二年（西元1879年）八月於上野，及十四年（西元1881年）五月於麻布，由島津家主持「犬追物」儀式獻予當代天皇。且明治二十四年（西元1891年）於鹿兒島將此儀式獻予當時俄羅斯皇太子（爾後的尼古拉二世皇帝），此次可謂歷史上最後一次的「犬追物」儀式。現代，雖可於島津家系史料（國寶『島津家文書』等）或小笠原家史料中查明當時的行禮作揖等儀式，但實演時因對於動物保護等緣故，今後理應無緣復甦此項騎射儀式。
笠懸亦稱笠掛，在一段設置了多個標靶的直線跑道上，射手騎著疾走中的馬匹，瞄準那些安放在較低位置的標靶射箭。笠懸本來是用於訓練騎射時瞄準低處敵人的技巧，相對於流鏑馬的禮儀性，更具備實戰意義。名字來源據稱是因為源賴朝於群馬縣新田郡笠懸町進行該項活動而來。
