How To Create A Minecraft Server Icon

It is not easy to create server icons. You have to consider design requirements, file size limits, and format restrictions that may feel constrictive to the creative process.



We're sharing all the technical aspects, design tips, and upload requirements you need to make a Minecraft server icon with ease without comprising creativity. To prepare for the tutorial, you will need a browser and a reliable device to access an online editor.

Step One: Find an Image for Your Minecraft Server Icon



Let's begin the tutorial by finding an image for the Minecraft server icon. Some ideas include initials that represent the server name, custom-designed logos to establish an identity, creative symbols and game characters. Pinterest and Google are great resources for finding inspiration. Here are a few examples.



Step 2: Upload your image to the PNG Creator



Open your browser and visit the PNG Maker by Kapwing to begin creating your Minecraft server icon. All server icons must be 64 x 64 pixels and have a PNG extension. This tool is free and supports both requirements. The PNG Maker is available for use on any device including a mobile phone, tablet, and computer.



There are a few options available to open the editor. To open the editor, tap or click on the get started button. You can upload a file to the file browser or paste an image link. This is the best option if you already own an image.



To find the perfect image, click the get started button. Next, use the Plugins tool. In addition to images, Pixabay provides free illustrations and vectors by talented creators, perfect for server icons. Type a descriptive term in the search bar, then tap or click the search button to generate results. Below is an example what you can expect with the Pixabay plug-in.



Step Three: Edit Minecraft Server Icon



To resize the canvas to the optimal dimensions for a server icon, click Custom under Output Size on the right side of the Studio and type 64 in each space. Click Done to save your changes.



To open the Remove Background tool, click or tap on the eraser. This will convert your image into a PNG, and make the background transparent. You can adjust your eraser size or use magic wand tools to quickly select and isolate background from icon. You can zoom in/out to make precise edits.



Click the transparent icon below Background Color if your image is transparent and you want to remove the background color.



Once the design specifications are complete, we can start customizing the server icon. You can browse shapes and Emojis using the Elements tool. The image search tool allows you to find borders, graphics, overlays, and graphics. Drag the ends to reposition the element on the canvas.



If you wish to have a different look, you can use our adjust tool. Click on the image to adjust it. Then drag the circle to the left or right to increase or decrease the intensity. You can also click on Filters to select from 17 options. To view a preview, click on a filter.

Step Four: Export and Upload to Minecraft Server



Check your icon, then click on the Export Image button at top of the PNG maker. This will allow you to start processing the project.

After the file has finished processing, you can change the name to'server_icon' This file name is required to upload the icon to your Minecraft server, then click Download to save it to your device. To remove the watermark, sign in with your email address. You'll get a workspace that you can store and edit content for as long as two days.



Open your server files and drag and drop the file from your desktop or download folder into the root directory of your Minecraft server. Launch and refresh your Minecraft server and your new icon should appear for all to view!
