How To Make A Minecraft Bedrock Server

To run a Minecraft server, you need to download its zip file from Minecraft's official website. It contains server files that can be used for Windows or Ubuntu. It can be unzipped with your default file browser or using software like WinZip, WinRar, or both.

Note: The Alpha stage for Bedrock's server software is still in place as of March 2022. There may be bugs that need to be fixed before the final release. Run the Minecraft Bedrock Server

Unlike a Java server, you don't have to install the Minecraft server before hosting it. Let's begin by unzipping the server files. Ubuntu

Each Linux OS has a "terminal", which allows you to run custom commands. Just make sure that your system is running at least Ubuntu 18 or equivalent. To launch the server, run the following command. LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./bedrock_server. After running the command successfully, you can jump on to the server and get started playing.

Windows

These steps will help you create a Minecraft Bedrock server for Windows: 1. First, we have to exempt Minecraft form the UWP loopback restriction. It prevents UWP apps (like Minecraft Bedrock), from connecting to the local servers. This can be done by opening the command prompt as an administrator by right-clicking it in the start menu, or selecting the option directly from a sub-menu.

2. Then, enter the following command within the command prompt. CheckNetIsolation.exe LoopbackExempt -a -p=S-1-15-2-1958404141-86561845-1752920682-3514627264-368642714-62675701-733520436 You can close the command prompt after executing the command.

3. Next, double-click or right-click the server folder to open the "bedrock_server.exe".

4. Windows will launch its firewall immediately after you open the server folder. Here, make sure that both the "private" and "public" networks options are selected. Click on the "allow Access" button.

5. Once the Firewall accepts the exception you made, the server will start running in the command prompt.

Open System Port

Now that both your OS and firewall are ready to invite other Minecraft players, it's time to get the router ready. Yes, we will go into more technical details than in the previous part. But our easy-to-follow steps are all you need to get your Minecraft Bedrock server up and running. Find Server IP Address & IPv6 Addresses

Before we can do anything else, let's find out more about the platform hosting the Minecraft Bedrock server. To do this, open Command Prompt again and enter the following command:

ipconfig /all

It will display your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses within the prompt. I'm bonnie and you are You can either leave it open or copy both to save for later. Some routers require the default gateway address instead of IPv6 so you can note that down too. System Port Settings

A system port is the gateway through which other players can connect to your online server. To allow other players to use your router's system ports, we must change them.

Unfortunately, each router manufacturer has its unique UI and settings dashboard. We can't cover all of them so we recommend that you visit SetupRouter.com to learn how to open your Port Forwarding settings. Enter Server Details

Once you have reached the router's system port settings, you will need to search for and click on "add services" or "create a new" or another similar-named button. Next, enter these details into your router.

- Server/Service/Port Name : Minecraft Server – Start Port: 19132, End Port: 19132

- Type of Service: TCP/UDP

Minecraft Bedrock's default Port ID is "19132". If there are other columns named "port", enter the same ID. The router may require that you enter an IP Address, IPv6 Adress, or default gateway address. Your IP address is the same as the IPv4 address that you noted earlier via command prompt alongside the other two addresses. Invite Friends: Find Your Public Internet Address

To join any dedicated Minecraft Bedrock server, you only need the host's public IP address. Fortunately, because of port forwarding, the public IP address won't reveal any of your private information. The same information can be found by opening Google and searching "what is my IP"

The search results will display your public IP address. You will need to copy the URL and share it to your friends who wish to join the server. As you will see in the next section, you also need the same to join your new Minecraft Bedrock server. How to Join the Minecraft Bedrock Server

Now it's time for you to test your server. The steps below will be the same for both you and your friends who wish to join the server. Let's get started by opening Minecraft Bedrock. 1. From the homepage, click on the "Play" button.

2. Next, click on Servers in the top column to load all active server.

3. Scroll down to find the servers section and click on "Add server" at the bottom.

4. To join the server you will need to enter the details. You can give the server any name you like. It is 19132, unless you have changed it in server property. The server address is the exact same as your public Internet Protocol address.

Modify Your Minecraft Bedrock Server

Now that your server has been set up, it's time you customize it. A server will defaultly load a basic Vanilla survival realm, which is great for enjoying some of the best Minecraft seed. However, this is not enough to make your server a hit. Let's now look at our customization options. Server Properties

The simplest way to customize a web server is to change its world properties. To do this, you can open the file "server.properties" in notepad. It is located within the unzipped folder, from which you run the world.

Within properties, you can edit the following features of your world: Game mode (Survival, Creative, or Adventure) & related settings

Cheats and difficulty

Maximum number of players along with conditions of joining

Server settings

Properties around the world

Ability of players

Resource Packs and Worlds

You can make a server stand out by changing its appearance. To do this, download and install one of our best texture or resource pack by placing it into the "resource package" folder.

Similarly, you can also use custom Minecraft maps by placing them in the "worlds" folder to get pre-built worlds that you can explore with your friends. Server Commands

In Minecraft, commands work like cheats in other games. These commands give you almost developer-like powers to modify everything in your world without ever leaving the game. These commands can be used to modify server properties. You can refer to our dedicated guide for Minecraft Bedrock commands to get the most out this feature. Close Your Minecraft Bedrock Server

Once your friends are done playing, you can simply close the game and exit the server. But this won't save the progress. Instead, you have to open the command prompt window in which your server is running. Next, type "stop" into the command prompt and hit enter.

The server will close immediately and save all your progress and changes to its world. You have to do this each time you want to close your server and save the progress. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

Q. Q. Is a dedicated Minecraft Bedrock server free? A dedicated Minecraft Bedrock Server is completely free unless you are using premium Minecraft hosting. Q. Q. Does Minecraft Bedrock Server support cross-play? All your friends can join your Minecraft server if they are on the same game version. Java players cannot join the Bedrock server.

Q. Can I Run a Server with Xbox Game Pass? The Xbox Game Pass version can be used to run a dedicated version, just like regular Minecraft. It works with Minecraft Betas and Minecraft Preview, as long as they are using the same version of Minecraft. Q. Q. Dedicated servers are usually the most reliable way to run Minecraft servers for free. But you can check our guide to make free online Minecraft servers for an even easier server method than dedicated servers. Host a Minecraft Bedrock Server for Free

You now have the ability to join the ever-growing Minecraft community and create a Bedrock server that is truly yours. In a dedicated server, whether you want to explore ancient cities or just hang out with your friends is totally up to you. My circle uses these servers most often to build Minecraft homes. This is a great way for people to get together and think. Make sure your group is dressed up for the role. It is not fun to have a server that has a lot of default protagonists. Try some of the best Minecraft skins, and share them with your friends. If you have any questions about hosting or managing your server, please leave them in the comments.
