Psychological Reasons For Gambling
The gambling industry is perhaps regarded as the second most ancient occupation known to man. Apart from the primitive desires that drove Apes throughout their evolutionary routine, an instinctive desire to take risks and emerge as a winner in their community was the one quality that slowed the herd psyche and created Homo sapiens the front runners in the fight for survival. This attraction to the unknown and events that were beyond our control set the foundations of religion, science and mythology, as well as the knowledge that would later become the basis of the human race. After all weren't Adam and Eve playing with fate and order of Lord in taking a bite of the forbidden fruit? Behold! How their bet has been rewarded...

The attraction towards the game of luck is something that is deeply embedded in our psyche. The reasons for it can be attributed to our ancestors into the prehistoric age that were constantly in battle with one or the other. Their beating these odds was crucial to their survival and that of their people. We live in the 21st century. Gambling today is a multi-billion dollar business that thrives on the passion and obsession of a modern-day gambler who is "nearly being a step away from" of the ever-elusive jackpot. It is the desire of a smart executive or businessman with high-end degrees that drives them to gamble. The evidence of their intelligence and rationality has guided them throughout their lives. The idea of spending their hard earned cash in one night in an obscene casino is an intriguing research that sheds light on the motivations and desires of a brain that is in the midst of.

The first thing to do is understand that all gamblers are not a part of the stereotypes that non-gamblers are able to imagine of them. We are referring both to stereotypes on the opposite end of this spectrum. One stereotype is of a sultry, sophisticated, ladies man, who appreciates wine and has three aces on his sleeve This image is reinforced by James Bond like characters that make gambling look glamorous and sexy up. On the other hand, there is the less fortunate cousin of this good-looking-devil. He is a social rot -famished with drugs, taking drugs, stealing, fighting; all in the name of gambling. The gambler is now a threat to his family and the society due to his becoming dependent of it. Fortunately, our real-life gambler is between the range.

In real life the gambling fraternity can be divided into three distinct classes, each with their own set of motives and reasons. best 2 player games are:

1) Casual gamblers or high-risk gamblers

This is a group of gamblers who see betting for what it is, a sport. They will bet with their family members who are passionate about the Euro Cup outcome. Gambling is for them one of the skills needed to prove that they are persons of the world. Because their social circle requires that they do this, or because they gain pleasure out of this they indulge in gambling. They know when to quit play ing with their money and when it is time to move on.

2) 2) Problem Gamblers or Habitual Gamblers

This group comprises gamblers who have evolved from a temporary pastime into a serious business. They are having a difficult time getting rid of the habit because they are addicted. The reason that habitual gamblers are considered to be problem gamblers is because they are a regular gambler. Gambling as a way of life is certainly a problem for anyone, unless the person is on a continuous winning streak.

3.) The pathological Gamblers:

This is the group that is most likely comprised of persons who are reasons for the second stereotype mentioned above. The term "pathological" is used in psychological parlance as a compulsion characterized by the capacity to resist overwhelming, irrational desires. Thus free play who are pathological are irrationally attracted to gambling but who have lost the power of judgement as to when it is time to stop. The game becomes their primary purpose, just like an addict. This is known as co-morbidity. They require support in order to come out of their routine.

This is the definition of gamblers with their reasons for the things they do. Let's now see how these individuals progress through each stage. What is the real reason an individual enters the world of gambling? Our ancestors knew that taking risks was a massive risk that they couldn't afford to take. In comparison to where we are today, the prospect of navigating through deep forests in darkness with nothing but stones to track down an animal was a risky gamble most will not indulge in our modern world. It was their way of life. Gradually, but surely, the ability to risk has decreased for all of us. For those who are just beginning, gambler, the risk is low and the rewards are so high that for him it makes sheer common sense to continue. It is difficult to not be drawn to the glamorous career. These games are often designed in such a way that gamblers believe that his skills are improving, and that he's getting closer to winning. If this is not checked, it is eventually a sign of a habit and then it becomes an addiction. In essence, gambling is about two universal emotions : the desire to win big without actually slogging for it , and the fear to give up on the dream, no matter how big the stakes.
