How To Set Up A Minecraft Server LAN

You can share the worlds that you create with other players on your network in real time -- "Minecraft", which allows you to open your game up to your local area network, also includes the option to share your worlds with others. Players don't have to log in to your physical LAN to access your world, however; software like LogMeIn Hamachi, Comodo Unite and Wippien enable you to create virtual LANs with users anywhere in the world. These virtual LANs are similar to physical networks in "Minecraft". To host a LAN party in "Minecraft", connect other players to your virtual network and then configure the game for other users.

Virtual LAN

Download, install, and then open LogMeIn Hachi, Comodo Unite, or Wippien (links are in the Resources).

Click the power button to create Hamachi. For Comodo Unite click "Register New Account", fill out the form, then click "Register." For Wippien, fill out the form that appears when you open the program, and then click "OK" to create a Jabber account.

Click "Create New Networks" in Hamachi. For Comodo Unite: Click "Sign Me in," select "Networks", then click "Create New Network". Wippien can be found on the toolbar by clicking the "+" symbol and then clicking "Add/Remove contacts."

Enter a network password and network name, then click "Create" Hamachi. For Comodo Unite, enter a network name and password, check "Enable VPN," and then click "Create." Enter the Jabber ID for Wippien and click "Add Contact" then click "OK."

To allow players to connect with the virtual LAN, you must give your JabberID (or the virtual network names and password) to them.

Physical LAN

To open Networks pane, click Signal Bar on Taskbar in Desktop mode.

Select your wireless network and click "Connect"

Enter your security key, if applicable, and then click "Connect" again to sign the computer on to the LAN.

Server Setup

Open "Minecraft," click on "Singleplayer", then click on "Create New World."

Enter a name for the world into the World Name field, and then click "Game Mode: Survival" to set the game to Survival, Hardcore or Creative mode.
Get Spout

Click "Create New World", and you will be able to load a completely new world. Press "Esc" after the game loads to open Game Options.
