These initiatives aim to improve the quality of agricultural production, strengthen food security managing resources, boost potential, fight against animal diseases, and much more. Azerbaijan's most important requirements are also met through these projects via the technical cooperation program.

The year 2015 witnessed the visit of Jose Graziano da Silva (FAO general director) to Azerbaijan. Two agreements were signed: the "Agreement among the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on the creation of the Coordination and Cooperation Office and providing technical assistance" as well as the agreement on FAO/Azerbaijan Partnership Program.
