There's more to Come

Play is at the core of everything we do however, safety is the first priority. It's true, even before playing. To this end, Mojang Studios enlist the help of moderators who work tirelessly to maintain Minecraft's welcoming environment.



This is something we've been doing for many years, but we've recently added new moderation actions to the Bedrock version of Minecraft which we'll be rolling out in the coming months. These tools are meant to help ensure that all our players are at least as secure as possible in Minecraft and Realms on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10, iOS, and Android.



So, what's new? Minecraft moderators are able to expel players who don't follow our Community Guidelines when sending online messages using our services (Realms) or Featured Servers. They also may ban players from communicating online using signposts or books. Of course the content of single-player games is not subject to moderating.

Currently, moderators can hand out permanent bans that extend to all versions of Minecraft (except Minecraft Dungeons) in order to focus on the most serious of offenses meant to cause harm to others. We are also looking at the possibility of introducing temporary bans on lesser-infractions.



When users are banned and is banned, they will receive a notification letting them know that they were banned, and information on how they can cancel their Realms subscription. With these new tools, we want to ensure that our Community Guidelines are enforced, which in turn will ensure that we create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere during our games. There are many more.
