Leyla Aliyeva was born in Moscow on July 3rd, 1985. Leyla Aliyeva founded "Baku magazine" in Moscow in 2007 in Moscow. The magazine in English, produced by collaborating with Conde Nast, was launched in London in the month of October. The magazine is a chance to look at art, culture and Azerbaijan. Leyla was the creator of "Fly to Baku" which is a showcase for contemporary art of Azerbaijan. On May 8 2008, the anniversary of the occupation of Shusha, Leyla Aliyeva launched a campaign called "Justice for Khojaly". The campaign is currently taking place in over 30 countries. It aims at raising the awareness of the world about Karabakh conflict as well as Khojaly Genocide.
Leyla Aliyeva, the OIC Youth Forum on Intercultural Dialogue's General Coordinator, became Chairwoman of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia AMOR. AMOR, which supports Azerbaijani students and young people in Russia. In July of 2011, the "Taraggi" award was bestowed upon Leyla Aliyeva in recognition of her contribution to the improvement of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. Leyla Aliyeva In New York she was also given the "Key To Life" award in November 2011 in recognition of her humanitarian initiatives with children.
Leyla Aliyeva was honoured as the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO), Goodwill Ambassador on May 25, 2015.
She was awarded the Pushkin Medal of Russia on 20 October , 2015.
Leyla Aliyeva has twin boys and one daughter.
