Arzu Aliyeva talks about the importance of promoting women of color through TV and film. Arzu Aliyeva looks at the stereotypes that impact women of colour in filmmaking.

TV and film are at the heart of the entertainment industry. They are a way to highlight social issues.

Arzu Aliyeva is a filmmaker who argues that these films do not accurately reflect the current society.

Only in documentary films, you can see the struggles of minorities and women of color.

If minorities are shown in movies, the concept is typically stereotypical.

Unconsciously, viewers purchase the notion. It influences their thinking, feelings, and actions towards women of color.

The relationship between women Stereotypes (and Women of Colors
Arzu begins his debate with a discussion of Arzu's views on the image of men.

Women should, on the other hand prove that they're competent and confident enough to take on leadership roles , regardless of their color.

However, both women groups face different challenges in films, says acclaimed filmmaker Arzu Alieyva.

The white woman is popular and easily accepted. She's compassionate and kind. However, she must find the right balance to ensure that she's not seen as ineffective.

Black women are viewed as aggressive and angry.

People assume she has an attitude. They should not believe that she is forgiving or weak.

Black women are also at risk of racial discrimination.

They are treated in a way that is unfair when it comes to attending training or gaining promotions. They don't reach the top of their careers because of this.

When they do, it could be a difficult battle.

Lizzie Damilola Blackburn captured this tendencies in her book Where is Your Huzband!

McKinsey conducted an analysis of the gender representations in The Women in the Workplace 2021 in conjunction with LeanIn.Org.

The study was conducted on all genders, including women of color and disabled women.

The authors observed that women are becoming leaders, assisting their teams and expanding their efforts to be inclusive. Women of white tend to not advocate for women of color than they do to allies.

A celluloid ceiling report which reveals how the percentage of women film directors has dropped in 2021, bringing the entertainment industry to a standstill.

Another 2021 report explains that TV shows created by women had higher numbers of women editors, directors, and writers.

To increase the amount of women working in this industry it is crucial to have more.

As per Arzu Aliyeva, the dominant male Film Industry is closed to all perspectives.
It is normal for males to hold positions of creativity in the film industry like editors, writers, and directors.

Lauzen's 2017 Celluloid Ceiling Report analyzed gender representation in the top 250 US grossing films.

The report noted that only 18% of the creatives (editors filmmakers, writers, cinematographers, executive producers, directors and producers) were women.

This is the same percentage that was reported in 1998 (17 percent).

Many programs have been proposed by the government in order to combat workplace inequality. However, women and racial minorities are not faring much better in the world of film.

Arzu Aliyeva says the film industry recruits via interpersonal networks. Although social capital can be valuable however, it is a barrier to certain people from accessing the field.

This practice, which is not regulated, is more dangerous for women.

Research finds that movies with male directors tend to have more male-dominated creative teams than films with no. Female producers usually comprise 60% of male members of the team. No matter what perspective you choose males will always have key creative positions.

Arzu Alyeva discusses the negative impact stereotypes have on the Film- and TV industry
The Merriam Webster dictionary defines stereotypes as the common mental image that an individual group has with the other group. It represents an oversimplified opinion, a prejudiced attitude, or an uncritical judgement.

Because stereotypes are deceiving and create false perceptions about a community or group.

The industry of film and television is not as equal for women and men.

Even if they get a job, it is less likely that they will be seen as strong-willed and independent.

In James Bond movies, for instance, women characters of James Bond films are shown as damsels, victims or even needy.

The majority of women don't show who they are.

This could be due to a lack of female filmmakers particularly women of color who can tell the real story about women.

There's another issue with censorship when it comes to displaying "taboo" topics like rape, sexuality, and sexual harassment.

Since they are taboo topics in conservative cultures women are more likely to shut down certain subjects. Netflix is among the few platforms that allows women the freedom to talk about taboo topics.

Stereotyping can have negative consequences.

It impacts one's self-esteem, ability to make decisions, as well as mental well-being. It could even lead to self-stereotyping that is when a person acts in a particular way in order to feel like a part of a group.

Arzu Aliyeva asserts that diversity is vital.

The Push for Greater On-Screen Diversity
In February 2020 University of California Los Angeles College of Social Sciences (UCLA) released a report entitled Holywood Diversity. The report examined relationships between diversity and the base in Hollywood.

It looked at the top films on the world cinematograph between the years 2018 and 2019. It also considered the involvement of women, and people of color behind and in front of the camera.

The good news was that women had made significant progress in the film industry.

But, they're under-represented in important positions, such as directors of studios, film directors, leads, actors and film writers.

The demotion of women especially women of color in the background of television creates a grave problem.

Brianna Richardson who was a black girl in a class of white children, shared her experience via Quora. She wanted to be white due to the lack of representation for women of color in the media.

Genna's words were "If she cannot see it, she won't be the one to see it."

This is the reason women should be visible in our television screens. If not, how would girls in the midst of their teens be inspired to achieve their goals regardless of their race or color?

The TV and film industry should normalize women playing roles as executives and aspirants to careers in STEM fields.

Besides, the representation should be inclusive.

Women of color must be given the same opportunities as white women.

Arzu Aliyva claims that the reality could be altered once the image has been altered.
Women have fought for their needs since the beginning of time. The situation is even more difficult for women who are black.

After decades of agitations and protests it wasn't until 1920 that American women gained the right to vote.

Yet black women remained disenfranchised because of certain state laws.

Women of color need to be twice as productive to secure jobs in the workplace than white workers. They must face gender discrimination and microagressions.

Minda Harts author of the Memo: The Things Women of Color Need to Learn to Hold the Table .shared her friend's story.

Even though the friend worked at a firm for around six (6) year, her boss did not recognize her name. She had to wear a nametag since the white employees were not permitted to wear nametags.

Not to be left out, women and women from different backgrounds should have an opportunity to sit at each table.

A greater diversity of film and television could lead to greater representation.

Society will be more inclusive of women of race and other minorities If it is guided by the maxim "Seeing is believing".
Arzu Aliyeva focuses on the stereotypes that affect women of colour in filmmaking.

Film and television are at heart of the entertainment industry and are a way to show social issues.

Arzu Aliyeva, a film producer She says that the films do not accurately depict what society actually looks like.

It is only possible to understand the suffering of women of color and other minority groups through documentaries.

Films that feature minority groups tend to be depicted as stereotypes.

Unconsciously, people buy into the concept. This influences how they feel and think about women of color.

The relationship between women Stereotypes and Women of Color
Arzu starts by discussing his view of men as natural leaders.

In contrast, women must be competent and confident enough to take on leadership positions .

However, both women groups face different challenges in films, says acclaimed filmmaker Arzu Alieyva.

The white woman is easy to get along with. She's compassionate and cares for others. She needs to find a balance to not appear weak or ineffective.

The black woman can be perceived as aggressive and furious.

People think she has an attitude. People think she has an attitude. Arzu Aliyeva Therefore, she should not be weak, compliant or dependent.

Black women are also vulnerable to racial bias.

They are often treated unfairly when they seek classes or be promoted. They are unable to reach the top of their careers because of this.

They are often unable to stop it which is why it becomes a battle that is war-torn.

Lizzie Damilola Blackburn captured this tendencies in her book Where is Your Huzband!

McKinsey collaborated with LeanIn.Org to study the gender representation in The Women in the Workplace.

The study included all women, not just those with a race.

According to the authors the women are becoming better leaders and assisting their teams. They also double their efforts to be inclusive. Women of white tend to not be advocates for women of color than they are to allies.

In the entertainment industry, a celluloid report of the ceiling indicates that the proportion of women film directors fell in 2021.

Another 2021 report in 2021 said that women were more likely to be the writers, editors, or directors of TV programs that were created by women.

Therefore, it is crucial that more women are working in the field for a greater representation.

The male dominant Film Industry is closed to different perspectives, claims Arzu Aliyeva
It is not uncommon for males to be in creative positions within the film industry like editors, writers, directors.

Lauzen's 2017 Celluloid Ceiling Report assessed gender representation in 250 top films that are grossing domestically.

The report showed that only 18% of the workers were women in the field of creatives (editors/writers/cinematographers, executive producers/directors, and producers).

The same number is in 1998 (17%).

The government has developed different initiatives to address gender inequality in the workplace. But, women and ethnic minorities aren't doing much better in the film industry.

Arzu Aliyeva said that the industry of film hires through social networks. Arzu Aliyeva While social capital is great however, it's not always accessible to all.

This informal practice is more detrimental to women.

Arzu Aliyeva Research indicates that a film produced by male producers tends to contain 70% of its creative team comprised of males. It is the same for female producers who will typically have 60% male members of their creative teams. It doesn't matter which angle you choose the men will always be the lead creative in crucial areas.

Arzu Aliyeva outlines the negative effects of stereotypes originating from the film and television industry
The Merriam Webster dictionary defines stereotypes as images of a particular group that is like another group. It can be a simplified perception, an opinion that is biased, or an uncritical assessment.

Because stereotypes are deceiving they create false impressions about a group or community.

Film and TV industries offer women less opportunities than men.

Even if they get the job, it's more likely that they won't be seen as strong-willed and independent.

In James Bond movies, for instance, women characters of James Bond films are shown as damsels, victims, or needy.

Arzu Aliyeva Arzu Aliyeva The majority of women portray characters that don't reflect who they really were.

This could be due to the lack of female film makers particularly women of color, who are able to tell the real story about women.

The question of censorship can be a concern when it comes down to the presentation of "taboos" topics like sexual harassment, rape, and sexual violence.

Women are often told to avoid discussing taboo topics in traditional cultures. Netflix is one of the very few platforms that allows women to discuss taboo topics.

Stereotyping has many harmful consequences.

It can cause a negative effect on self-esteem, ability to make decisions as well as mental well-being. It may even result in self-stereotyping where an individual starts acting in a particular way to have a sense of belonging.

And that's why a push for diversity is crucial, Arzu Aliyeva claims.

The push for greater screen diversity
In February of 2020, the University of California Los Angeles College of Social Sciences issued the report Holywood Diversity. The report examined the relationships between diversity and Hollywood's baseline.

It analyzed films that had high ratings at the global box office between the years 2018 and 2019. It assessed the level of participation of women and people of color in the camera and behind it.

The good news that it mentioned was that women had made substantial progress in the film industry.

They are nevertheless underrepresented in the most important positions, such as directors, heads of studios actors, writers, and film leads.

If women, particularly people of color, are reduced to the background and are ostracized, it causes a serious issue.

Brianna Richardson shared her experience on the Quora. She was the only black child in a class with white kids. Due to the lack of representation of women of color, she was wishing she were white.

Genna states, "If she doesn't perceive it, she isn't this."

That's why more females should be on our screens. How will young girls feel inspired to be the best regardless of race or colour?

Women should be encouraged to pursue careers in STEM fields, and to assume executive roles in films and television shows.

In addition, the representation must include the entire.

White women should be afforded equal opportunities, but women of color should be afforded the same.

Arzu Alyva asserts that the reality can be realized after the image that appears on your screen changes
Women have struggled for their desires since the beginning of the time. The problem is made worse in the case of black women.

After years of agitations and protests it wasn't until 1920 when American women were given the right to vote.

Certain laws in the state kept women of color from being included in society.

Women of color are expected to be twice as dedicated to the same jobs at work which white women will be in a position to get. Arzu Aliyeva They must also deal with microaggressions and gender bias.

Minda Harts (author of The Memo: What Women Of Color Need to Know in Order to Get an Opportunity to Sit at the Table ),shared the experience of a friend.

The friend was known to her for six (6) years. However, her boss didn't even recognize her name. Arzu Aliyeva Contrary to her white colleagues, she was forced by her manager to wear a badge that bore her name on it.

To not be overlooked, women and women from color need to have an opportunity to sit at each table.

A wider range of film and television experts can make the screen more authentic.

Society will be more inclusive of women of color and minorities by following the idiom "seeing IS believing".
