i am not much of a traveler and neither my family and nor my family has enough money to throw trips every year like it's nothing but i have gone to at least one state of each direction except for the east. So this time we were travelling to one of the seven sisters, Manipur. After planning for a week we took the flight and, got off to float to Manipur The weather was quite pleasant than what we suffer in Haryana like seriously ALOT OF DIFFERENCE! Like we turn on the A.C but still dont feel any cold air and when we turn on A.C in Manipur it's just the same as getting locked in freezing chamber!! But still it's commonsense that we were in the mountain areas so.... there would be cold. We found Manipur quite colorful as if there was a celebration and in fact there was but we had no idea why? But my uncle knew and he said that, they were celebrating their "Post-Harvesting festival" called "Chavang-Kut" also known as "Kut festival" and it is quite interesting festival as this festival was celebrated by the tribes of Kuki-Chin-Mizo groups of Manipur. The people of all communities of Manipur come together to commemorate this amazing fiesta this festival is observed to mark the end of the harvesting season and also to thank deities for a good harvest season. The festival is named Chavang Kut (Chavang stands for ‘autumn’ and Kut mean ‘harvest’). After the main rites, the village priest used to distribute ju(rice beer) to the locals. The celebration also included the dancing and singing along with the sports competitions and feasts. And the actual festival was happening in Imphal .DAY 1-Today was the day I had been eagerly waiting for—the Kut Festival. The festival showcases the region's agricultural heritage and pays tribute to the hard work of farmers. The tribal communities showcased their unique customs and traditions through vibrant performances brought alive the rich cultural heritage of the Kuki tribe. The beat of drums, accompanied by the melodious tunes of traditional instruments, filled the atmosphere with an infectious energy. The men and women, dressed in their colorful traditional attire, performed traditional dances like the Cheraw and the Thang-Ta, demonstrating their agility and skill. DAY3- Today, WEhad the opportunity to immerse into the culinary delights of the Chavang Kut Festival. The food stalls were offering a variety of traditional dishes prepared with freshly harvested ingredients. From savory delights like Eromba (a spicy dish made with boiled vegetables and fermented fish) to sweet treats like Khutlakpi (a dessert made with rice powder, sugar, and coconut), every bite was a burst of flavors. I also had the chance to learn more about the Kuki tribe's agricultural practices and their deep connection with the land. The farmers proudly displayed their produce, showcasing the fruits of their labor and their dedication to farming. On the final day of the Chavang Kut Festival, the spirit of celebration reached its peak. Traditional games and sports were organized, adding an element of fun and excitement to the festivities. The enthusiastic participants showcased their skills in archery, wrestling, and various other traditional games, captivating the spectators with their talent and agility, narrating stories that were steeped in the rich folklore and mythology of the Kuki tribe. On the last day of our trip, as we bid farewell to the Chavang Kut Festival and prepared to leave Manipur, after experiencing this incredible celebration of harvest and culture i could not help myself to get ready to leave it was all mesmerising and a blessing to experience it all live
