A few weeks ago, my chemical romance merch released a new collection of Danger Days branded merchandise. It featured clothing, bags, keychains, lanyards, and makeup kits featuring Party Poison, Fun Ghoul, Jet Star, and Kobra Kid’s iconic masks. The release also coincided with the release of a Danger Days x HipDot makeup set.
Gerard Way teased a possible new era for My Chemical Romance nearly 3 years ago with a post on social media simply captioned ‘Bug Summoning’. It seems to have been the start of a new arc for the band, and a direct link to their upcoming 2022 tour.
The band have already released a tenth anniversary reissue of The Black Parade, as well as a greatest hits album and a live DVD. The band had planned a full-length reunion tour for 2020, but due to COVID-19 it was postponed until 2022.
Fans have taken to social media to share pictures of the bands new merch, with many items featuring the word SWARM and a logo that is similar to an MCR tramp stamp. This has led some to speculate that this is the beginning of a new era for the band, and a link to their upcoming single ‘The Foundations of Decay’. Considering the apocalyptic theme of the song, this would make sense. A new era for MCR could mean more pyrotechnics, more costume changes, and a return to their gothic roots.
