The story follows an affectionate, warm young boy called Tanjirou who makes a living selling coal to help his family. The backgrounds are typically filled with cloudy skies and cerulean skies. The action scenes are fast-paced and visually stunning.
The show is filled with sword fighting. The show is bloody and violent but not graphic. Demons usually die by cutting their heads off, or having their legs cut. The film also has lots of crying, screaming and even a few nudities. The character is portrayed as prostitute in the past by a villain, however, her kimono is not shut during the scene.
