The Grinch Movie Sweater
The new version of the story which first made an appearance in a 1956 cartoon, has plenty to love. The film is less focused on the transformation of the Grinch from a villainous scoundrel to a loving fellow citizen However, that doesn't mean it takes away from the joy and love.


Benedict Cumberbatch gives a fantastic voice-over performance as the Grinch. He elevates the material above what Jim Carrey delivered in the version of 2000. Kenan Thompson also does a great job as the snarky, but loyal Max. The sets and animation are excellent and the entire production is fun to take in.


The plot of this adaptation is mostly similar to that of the Dr. Seuss book that the film is based, but minor adjustments are added in the nick of time. The character Cindy Lou Who has been enhanced than she was in the film from 1966. It's still a young girl, but her backstory is different as she tries to catch Santa to give a present to her single mother.



Old school greenies might view this retelling with apprehension and complain about the rhymed narrative, the over-the-top plot, and that it's not akin to Boris Karloff from the original television special. They're missing the main point.



The Grinch Movie Sweater will look fantastic when paired with blue jeans, or women's or men's slacks. It's also a fantastic idea for a gift for anyone who loves the film or the holiday season generally.
