Dear Ashley,
I sincerely understand your concerns and the protocol of rules we all must follow when it comes to having a pet here at Saint Marys. This is my junior year in college and I cannot believe Its half over with and having a dog was not on my goal list, so please give me a chance to explain how all this has happened.
Long story short.... Last summer I went home with the expectation of spending time with my family and friends. i had no idea I would spend the whole summer going back and forth to the ER and then to see my primary doctor who believed I was developing some signs of anxiety. I had no idea of why and what I was feeling because I could not explain it and everyone thought It was all in my head. I was so scared to even come back to school. It ruined mine and my families whole summer. Its been really rough for me (and I only speak for me) this year I"ve been struggling with anxiety and emotional stress and I have no way of knowing how to deal with it......then all the sudden a friend of mine and Michaels asked us if we could watch his dog until he came back and of course we said yes. Some weeks go by and no word from the owner on when he is picking up his dog, When we did finally hear from him, which is been over a month, he tells us hes in Mexico and is not coming back and that a friend was coming to get his dog. Someone does show up to pick up the dog but then 3 days later calls me and tells me the dog is not eating and she has been sleeping in the car with him because she cannot have dogs in the apartment and that she was bringing her back and so here I am not realizing that the whole time I had this dog my feelings of anxiety and depression were gone and I was able to get a job and start interacting with people. The 3 days she was gone I started feeling those same feelings again. I dont tell you this to try and make you feel sorry me or gain sympathy, I tell you because this is whats been happening to me this past year. I write you this letter in hopes of you understanding that this dog has helped me in ways I know no one understands. She will only be here one more month.
I was not in no way wanting a dog. She has helped me get thru the struggles of anxiety and I honestly dont want to go back feeling that way again.
I have all my records of all my hospital visits and my doctors visits and the meds they wanted me to take if you need to see them. Please just understand my side on al this..
