Jelly Drops are a fun snack that help older adults stay hydrated. Dehydration can be a major cause of health issues and memory problems. Often, the elderly are forgetful when it comes to drinking water. If you or your loved ones are experiencing dehydration, it is important to get them the fluids they need.
Many elderly people with dementia don't drink enough water. Dehydration can lead to serious health concerns such as sunken eyes, shriveled skin and delirium.
Lewis Hornby created Jelly Drops to make it easier for seniors to hydrate. He was inspired to do so by his grandmother's dehydration. In fact, when his grandmother was at her worst, she was rushed to the hospital because she was dehydrated.
Lewis Hornby holds Masters Degrees from Imperial College London, Royal College of Arts and University of Bristol. His passion for social good led him to start his own company, Pluvo, in 2017.
Using his expertise in engineering and innovation design, he has spent the past 18 months developing Jelly Drops. This innovative candy was designed to be inclusive and tasty for everyone.
Aside from being an award-winning candy, it also contains electrolytes that aid hydration. It is gluten free, sugar free, and vegan.
Jelly Drops were first developed for the Alzheimer's community. The product has received a number of awards, including Helen Hamlyn's Snowdon Award for Disability.
