Kata Ghoul juga digunakan derogatorily untuk merujuk kepada orang yang berkenan mengerikan atau profesinya terhubung langsung dengan kematian, seperti penggali kubur.
Ghoul atau dalam bahasa Arab, Ghul, yang artinya berarti Iblis. Kementrian satwa gaib mengklarifikasikan KKM XX itu tidak berbahaya, namun Kementrian satwa gaib membentuk satggas khusus ghoul yang mengamankan semua ghoul yang menggali kuburan para muggle atau penyihir.
Ghoul juga termaksud dalam keluarga raksasa namun terlihat lebih kurus dari kebanyakan raksasa lainnya.
