MINECRAFT: JAVA EDITION (PC /MAC)
Start by opening the Minecraft Launcher. If you don't have it, you can download it here. The launcher should display the most recent release. If it doesn't, click the arrow to right of the play button and select "Latest Release". Easy!
IOS or ANDROID
Open Google Play or App Store on your device and search "Minecraft". If you own Minecraft already, you will be prompted to upgrade Minecraft if it isn't already updated. Just press "Open" to download the latest version.
XBOX
Go to "My Apps & Games" Select Minecraft and press the more options button. From the list, choose "Manage game and add-ons" and then "Updates". Updates will be listed here. If there are no updates the game will be fully updated.
PLAYSTATION 4
The PS4 should update Minecraft automatically. If you don't wish to receive automatic updates on your PS4, click the "options" button, and then click the "check for updates" link.

Windows
Minecraft for Windows will update to the latest version automatically. Open Microsoft Store, click the three dots at the top right , and select "Downloads & Updates". From there, choose "Get updates" and all of your installed applications should update (including Minecraft)!
NINTENDO SWITCH
If you have Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition it is all you need to do is start the game and an announcement window will appear regarding the latest version of Minecraft. You can click on the button to be redirected directly to the eShop, where you can download the latest Minecraft. Alternatively, you can visit the eShop and look for a game whose name is only "Minecraft". Join our channel on Switch and we'll notify you of any future updates to your console!
FIRE TV
Click on the magnifying glass icon to go to Store. Type "Minecraft" and then click the button to download the update. Once the update is downloaded the icon will show up in the Home tab under "Recent". To update Minecraft, highlight Minecraft and press the menu button (3 horizontally aligned lines) and click "More Details". The 'Update' button will appear in the game description. Clicking it activates the update.
