Ashton Nicole Casey, better known as ASHNIKKO, was raised and born in an extremely traditional North Carolina community. She was forced to discover how to express herself in the context of a society that didn't permit much. She discovered a sense of cultural identity within the Tumblr community, and found friends who were at different from her environment.
