How do I obtain Minecraft Amethyst Shards and how to make use of them
To make a Spyglass, or Tinted Glass, use Mine Amethyst Clusters
Amethyst mining clusters which have been connected to geodes may yield Minecraft Amethyst Shards. These shards can be used as fancy decorations or crafting materials to make Spyglasses as well as Tinted Glass. You will need to know the specifics of how to maximize your shard gains and where to find Amethyst Geodes if you want to find the purple crystal shards. Here's what you should know about finding and mining Amethyst Shards in Minecraft, and what you can do with them.
Where can I get Amethyst Geodes for Minecraft?
It's easiest to go underground and begin mining in Minecraft to find an Amethyst Geode. It's not necessary to dig deep: Amethyst geodes can spawn between Y-level 64 and Y-level 30. Because they're large and often cracked, geodes are easy to spot. You might also see faint glowing lights from the distance.
Keep an eye out for smooth basalt during mining. This is the dark outer layer of an Amethyst Geode. It is possible to break through this layer to find the calcite. Then, continue to look for amethyst. There are Blocks of Amethyst and Budding Amethyst as well as Amethyst Buds and Amethyst Clusters. Let's review which of which:
How to obtain Amethyst Shards in Minecraft from Amethyst Clusters
Minecraft Netherite is very valuable but a lot harder to find Amesthyst Shards!
Amethyst Shards are able to be dropped from the growing amethyst clusters. These clusters can be found in Amethyst Geodes. If you mine amethyst clusters you will receive Minecraft Amethyst Shards in return. They can be used to craft a few particular items.
It is important to only mine the fully grown ones, since smaller Minecraft Amethyst Buds will not drop any Amethyst Shards. An Amethyst Bud goes through three stages before it becomes an Amethyst Cluster. Take a look at the picture above to distinguish them!
Fully formed Amethyst clusters drop two Minecraft Amethyst Shards when broken using any other tool and four when mined with the use of a pickaxe. The number of Amethyst Shards that drop can be increased through the Fortune enchantment. If you want to collect the cluster by itself make use of a pickaxe that has the Silk Touch enchantment.
Budding Amethyst blocks are the most ideal location to grow Minecraft Amethyst Clusters or Buds. You can identify them by their cross-shapes on their sides. It is important to note that you cannot mine Budding Amethyst, but you can come back to find newly-spawned Amethyst Buds. The second amethyst solid block is called a "Block of Amethyst" and can only be mined with a pickaxe. It can only be used for decorative purposes and can't be used to grow Amethyst Buds. You can use Amethyst Shards to build more Minecraft Blocks of Amethyst if you intend to use them as a building material.
You can create anything using Minecraft Amethyst Shards
Apart from being a chic new building material, Amethyst Shards may be used to create the following items:
Spyglass:One Amethyst Shard placed on the top of two Copper Ingots creates a Spyglass. Spyglasses can be used to zoom in on far objects.
Tinted Glass A single block of glass will create two blocks of Tinted Glass. Tinted Glass blocks light but you can still see through it. It can't suffocate mobs, but it is able to be reused when it's broken.
Block of Amethyst: As mentioned before, this is purely decorative. You can create the Block of Amethyst with four Amethyst Shards.
It's time to search for Amethyst Shards so you can create your dream amethyst house!
