Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

It's made of Dark Stained Burr Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes the flying "B" paperweight keys, as well as an original 1930s booklet that features never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

Bentley is a company that takes its aesthetics very seriously. Design

Bentley is famous for its extravagant and lavish automobiles and keys, but even the keys are designed to stand out. The Bentayga Key is constructed of sterling silver and features the large B' logo to signal to everyone that you're a Bentley. It's also engraved with the years 1919 and 2019 to celebrate the company's centenary.

The Mulsanne was redesigned and developed by Bentley Mulliner in order to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. It comes with two pairs of rear seats that are inspired by luxury private aviation and provides passengers with unbeatable comfort and security. The bespoke heating and ventilation system as well as the air conditioning system was created to give every passenger the ideal climate control settings.

The Mulsanne comes with twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine with 560bhp, and 479lb-ft of torque. This incredible power is complemented by a brand new suspension system which provides Bentley's renowned quiet ride.

Bentley has introduced a special specification for cars made after the year 2019 in order to celebrate its centenary. This is referred to as the Centenary Specification. The cabin is decorated with cross-stitching as well as contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests, seats and other areas of the car. This adds to the celebration. A bespoke Bentley key case is also included in the Centenary Specification, making the Bentley experience all-inclusive.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne Key features two buttons one of which opens the trunk, and the second that turns on the vehicle. It also has a button to switch on the parking break. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors while parking in a tight space. This feature makes it easier to get in and out of your car.

The key is made from vegetable tanned leather. It takes more than two days to craft each one. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, sewed to seal, and polished to give a superior result. It is lightweight and durable and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is reminiscent of the Volkswagen Phaeton's massive car key, yet it feels more substantial and premium.

It also has Secure-A-Key which prevents keyless entry theft. This device is placed inside the remote control fob and it shuts it down when the key isn't utilized for a period of a few minutes. It prevents thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that can be used to open and start the vehicle.

Bentley's unique design reflects the company's values of exquisite craftsmanship, engineering expertise, and modern technology. Its headquarters in Crewe are home to more than 4000 employees who are responsible for the design, development, and production of Bentley vehicles. They apply their expertise that have been passed down through generations to cutting-edge automotive technology. This is British manufacturing at its best.

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers create their own car. The guests sit at a collection of images, referred to "mood stations" and pick a set of photos ranging from picturesque landscapes to sporting events that inspire them to design their own. Every time a choice is made the pattern that emerges is the model preference for color, style and design for the custom Bentley.

The guests are given a key case made by hand that houses the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys are also equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps, which illuminate the door-opening path with the owner's name and/or emblem as they are approaching the vehicle.

Bentley estimates that it takes 500 man-hours on average to construct and build the Mulsanne. The main reason for this lengthy effort is a deliberate decision to adopt the latest technology. Instead of using bentley keys to place the perfectly matched cross-stitched leather seats workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Instead of using the car's built-in sensors to guide it into parallel and perpendicular parking spaces drivers must do it manually.

Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization skills with a special Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays homage to William Osler, the founder of Bentley. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to the man who founded the company, William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited edition cars come with keys that display an item from the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
