Minecraft Java Edition 1.16.2

Since the Nether Update, the Piglins have seen players sneaking in and peeking in their chests. Well it's over! With 1.16.2 We're introducing the Piglin Brute - the Piglin so focused on protecting the Bastion Remnants' chests that even gold won't keep them from their duties.





Features


Accessibility

Two new accessibility settings are now available to help with visual comfort.



- Now you can reduce distortion effects such as nausea and the Nether portal overlay. - At lower values the nausea effect can be replaced with an overlay in green to provide an alternative visualization. - Field effects can be diminished after speed adjustments have been made.





Chat Delay

Chat delay is now available on the Chat Settings screen. Pressing F3+D clears all chat messages that are pending





Bastion Remnants

- Take out the Bastion Remnant chest loot. Bastion Remnants chests are more likely to be placed on top of gilded stone.





Blocks

- Brewing stands can now made from blackstone. - Lanterns, Soul Lanterns and Lanterns can now be waterlogged. Warped or crimson fungus can now go on mycelium. - Chains can now fit in all orientations





Items

- Tools can now be classified based on the material used in the creative inventor Totems for Undying now give the fire resistance status effect of 40 seconds when activated.





Mobs

Endermen can't put their blocks on bedrock blocks anymore - Zoglins are now shackled - A Zombified Piglin will soon be riding a Strider and holding the Warped Fungus onto a Stick – Removed Herobrine





Piglins

- Added Piglin Brutes! Piglin Brutes are now available to players who open or destroy the Chest Minecart. - Tweaked bartering loot





Piglin Brute

- Piglin Brutes are stronger versions of Piglins that reside in bastions and guard the treasures there - Unlike the their cowardly and greedy counterparts, the Piglin Brutes can't be enticed by gold and aren't scared of anything - Piglin Brutes can attack players on sight, no matter how they are dressed - Piglin Brutes are armed with axes and don't require any armor, because they're just that tough





Respawn Block Positions

- Modified how respawn positions are selected for beds as well as respawn anchors - Respawn anchors will prioritize corner directions over cardinal directions - Beds will be based on the side of the bed from which the player entered from, and spaces circling around the foot of the bed all the way to the top of the bed. Respawning players will be facing the block that they respawned at - placing players on dangerous blocks is now avoided when possible





Villagers

Villagers emit green particles when they join a village, set an apartment or buy a job site or profession. Villagers lose their job sites when they change dimensions.





Technical

Custom worlds are now supported by custom biomes - Sign edit screen will now intialize from the existing sign text (should not have any noticeable impact on vanilla) - Small improvements to data and resource pack selection screens - Tags can now have optional entries

Now, execute the command to scale the dimension





spawnpoint & setworldspawn

Added an angle parameter for setting the default angle of a player that is respawning. Syntax: spawnpoint [] []] Syntax setworldspawn New parameters:



angle - Floating point angle in degrees. It is a relative modifier that supports it.





Customized world generation

- Custom world generation and dimension settings now use the same folder pattern in data packs as other resources (namespace//resource.json) - There is now experimental support for a worldgen folder in data packs worldgen/biome can contain biome definitions worldgen/configured_carver can contain definitions for world carver settings worldgen/configured_feature can contain definitions for feature placements worldgen/configured_structure_feature can contain definitions for structure placements worldgen/configured_surface_builder can contain definitions for surfaces worldgen/noise_settings can now contain noise configurations worldgen/processor_list can contain sets of block processors worldgen/template_pool can contain pool definitions for jigsaw structures - Custom biomes can now be used in the single biome/caves/floating islands world types (add the data pack containing the biome first) - Custom biomes can now be used in custom dimension generators





Limit of packets per dedicated server

Dedicated servers can now kick clients who send too many packets per second. This is managed by setting the rate-limit settings in server.properties. - The default rate limit for zero means "no limit".





Pack selection screens

- While screen is open, it will automatically update when pack directory contents change - Both screens for selecting packs will display the contents of pack.png as a pack icon





Pack version

Version of the Resource Pack that has been increased to 6





Tags


Optional entries

Tags that have optional entries can now also be added. Failure to resolve entries that are optional will not stop the entire tag from loading. Example:
