The Hanover-Horton High School Flags Let's Go Brandon
HORTON - A flag with the words "Lets Go Brandon", which was erected at Hanover Horton High School, raised more than some eyebrows. It's a sign of solidarity for a local boy suffering from autism.


The whole thing began with an NASCAR event in Talladega. While NBC Sports reporter Kelli Stavast interviewed driver Brandon Brown, the crowd began to chant something difficult to comprehend.


1. It's a rallying signal

It quickly became popular among conservative groups, including Republican members of Congress. The phrase and chant was popularized following NBC Sports reporter Kelli stavast was interviewed by NASCAR driver Brandon Brown at Talladega. The hashtag and slogan grew into an internet meme, and has its own merchandise.


The Trump administration is also taking notice. The motorcade of Vice President Joe Biden drove past a "Let's Go Brandon" banner in Plainfield, New Jersey, and a Southwest Airlines pilot reportedly signed off his greeting on the public address system on one of their recent flights with the phrase "Taunting.


3. It's just a joke


There's a lot to laugh about in the manner "Let's Go Brandon" is now a popular national trend. Kelli Stavast, an NBC reporter was unable to spot a mistake on the NASCAR live stream. Stavast mistakenly heard a crowd chanting "fJoe Biden!" Joe Biden" as "Let's go Brandon."


The phrase soon became a rallying cry for anyone frustrated by the federal government's excessive power. The slogan has transcended all political affiliations and has even inspired a popular song by Loza Alexander.


Attempts to reclaim "Let's Go Brandon" for the left have met with a lack of success. Instead, the meme's supporters have switched to a more dark variation of the phrase, known as "Dark Brandon." It is a laser-eyed version of Joe Biden and has been well-known by various meme accounts.


4. It's an emblem


It's not entirely clear how "Let’s Go Brandon" came to replace "F Joe Biden" however it has definitely been taken off. The phrase is even on political t-shirts, banners and hats.

NBC reporter Kelli stavast was in the studio interviewing Brandon Brown, as the crowd sang "F*** Joe Biden." Stavast was mistaken for Brown, and renamed it "Let's go Brandon."


Since then, the expression has gone viral on Twitter and is making its way into the political landscape. Republicans are also on board, with Florida Rep. Bill Posey ending his House floor speech last week with "Let's go, Brandon!" South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan tweeted a picture of himself wearing a mask with the message.
