1. One of the factors related to fitness goals is balance. Describe what a balanced life may look like for a high schooler in terms of personal health and fitness.
Most high schoolers don’t really seem to have a “balanced” life. Some are just okay with the way they are. Others that do have a “balanced” life are the ones that care more about there health and their physical apperience. Having a balanced life is having a good amount of everything, one thing can’t have more than another.

2. Imagine that you were born without the ability to see; you are blind and have been since birth. How might this change your own personal body image? Do you think your body image would be more positive or negative than it is now? Why?
I honestly don’t think there will be much of a change because you’re still able to know the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods. Being blind shouldn’t stop someone from getting the body they want as a matter of fact it’s good that they’re working hard for it that way they show other people that there is no excuse to get where they want to get. It all honestly depends on each person though because like I said before, not everyone is the same.

3. We all have a unique body composition that we must take into account in terms of our fitness. Consider your own personal body composition. Evaluate aspects of your body composition and how they impact your weight, personal fitness plan, and fitness goals. Discuss how these aspects of your body composition make you feel.
I honestly wouldn’t consider myself as being “fit” right now just because I have a skinny body. Yes i do eat healthy but that’s about it. I don’t really exercise right now but that’s only because of my pregnancy but before I would consider myself fit. I had a good relationship with personal fitness, I love working out it makes me feel good about myself. I don’t work out to please others I do it for myself and to make myself better. We all have unique body’s and we should all love our body’s the way they are.

4. The unit tells us that ethnicity plays a role in body image. How might a person’s culture and family background shape their body image? How might culture and ethnicity affect perceptions about the role of sports and physical activity? You may choose to examine your own ethnicity or discuss a variety of different ethnicities.
A person’s culture and family background might shape your body image because everything is all the one genes and of course the genes are from where you come from. It can also affect perceptions about the role of sports and physical activity because some cultures may have a certain sport they like to play therefore you’re obviously going to be good at that certain sport because you grew up with it. Not growing up with a sport will be harder because you’ll have to learn the rules, how to play and plenty of other stuff.

5. Why do you think that tracking the foods you eat and calories you consume can be helpful when trying to lose weight? What negative side effects could result from food tracking and calorie counting?
Tracking the foods you eat and calories you consume can be helpful when trying to lose weight because you’re reaching your goal. If you’re looking to lose weight, being in a calorie deficit is a good way to reach your goal, you’re taking care of how much food your consuming and the type of food you’re consuming. All this can be good but also bad, like in the previous units, it isn’t really recommended because at the end you will end up gaining back that weight. At the beginning, you will feel hungrier than ever and will lead to you wanting to eat as much food as you can because your body isn’t used to it.
