Death Band Mug
The Death Band Mug features four Skeletons in a hippie band. Death Band Apron is the ideal coffee cup for any metalhead that appears a bit dead.



In the year 1991, Chuck Schuldiner reformed Death with Paul Masvidal and drummer Sean Reinert from underground Florida band Cynic. Human is thought by many to be one of the greatest albums that the band has ever released. The group took a forward-looking approach to their music and included complex beats and riffs on their songs. MTV broadcast the band's song "Lack of Understanding".


Following the success of Human Schuldiner began working with session musicians rather than his original members. He hired bassist Steve Di Giorgio and guitarist Kelly Conlon from underground Florida band Genocide. Death's resulting incarnation recorded the Back from the Dead Demo. The band also recorded their Symbolic album prior to a dispute with Roadrunner Records led to the end of the band, and Schuldiner founded Control Denied.



On December 12, 2011, a day shy of the first anniversary of the passing of Death the mastermind, Chuck Schuldiner fans will come together to commemorate the band with the performance of some of the former members from the initial lineup. The event will be held in The Brass Mug in Tampa, where the band played in the beginning of their career.


The event will include performance by Butler, Rios and Harvey as well as an appearance by the former drummer of Death James Murphy. They performed recently in the Death tribute known as Living Monstrosity with other former Death members. The band will perform Spiritual Healing as a whole.

In the hands of Florida musicians, Death set the standard for growling, riff-heavy heavy metal. Even though they broke up in 2001, the guitarist Chuck Schuldiner, as well as his band of musicians, helped in creating a lasting model for the genre. It also was influential for bands such as Autopsy, and Control Denied.


A local beer is made and two local headliners will be greeted by a massive audience at the Mug. Katy Decker, an opera singer, and Mena Brinno which is a rock group, perform tight original sets for a variety of fans who are regulars, Mug 30-somethings and Mena Brinno's dedicated fans.
