The World is Surrounded by an Invisible Wall

The first version, released on December 2, 2009, was more limited than any other version of Minecraft ever released to the public, including the pre-classic version available from the Minecraft Launcher. A new version was released on December 4, 2009, altered the controls and added widescreen, more blocks, and the ability to put and remove blocks. [2]

In November 2014, the initial page hosting the game was deleted. You can still access the archive by using the Wayback Machine. The executable can also be accessed via the Internet Archive.

Notch released the JavaScript version of Minecraft 4k on December 2 2012. It isn't possible to move or look around in this version, though the camera or the world does move on its own and there is a blue water-like object in addition to the other types of blocks. [3]

Gameplay[]

General[]

The player is able to place and take away blocks. The only block the player can put in is grass, which is reminiscent of the very early constructions of

Minecraft

RubyDung internally is available from the

Minecraft Launcher Launcher

. Leaves do not decay.

World[]

The same 64x64x63 block universe is generated every time the game is loaded. The only blocks that are in the game - grass block, air, dirt bricks, stone, wood, and leaves are scattered throughout the world. No mobs exist.

The first version of the game has one type of block, that uses an XOR Fractal as a texture.

An invisible wall protects the world, and prevents the player from leaving like invisible bedrock or an old world.

Controls[]

The player can move around with standard WASD controls, as well as jump using Space.

The standard Minecraft controls that allow left- and right-clicking are reversed. Left-click puts blocks in place, and right-click takes them away. Middle-click also places blocks in a bizarre manner. Moving the mouse turns the camera "smoothly," similar to pressing F8 in Java Edition, and is not able to be altered in this version.
Name Mc

The camera acts differently to Minecraft's. The camera is only moved when the cursor moves far enough away from the center of the game's screen. Blocks from the world are selected by the cursor, and not than the center of the screen.

The game does not have any kind of menu of options or HUD.

Graphics[]

The graphics appear pixelated as a result of the game rendering at a low resolution. Even at a higher resolution, the game doesn't scale the resolution correctly and the noisy appearance remains. Classic 0.30 (Creative), which was the most recent version, has block textures that look similar to Classic.

Minecraft

at the time. Blocks appear noisier than they actually are.

Minecraft

Although certain blocks, like stone, have a similar appearance, they are quite different from the other blocks. The sky is black because there's no skybox.

When the cursor is hovered over an object the outline of the block appears thick and white, in contrast to Minecraft's thin gray outline of block selection.

Blocks[]

The original game featured only one non-air block.

In the second version blocks IDs are stored with four bits, giving 16 possible IDs. They are typically filled with slightly different textured dirt.
