The EMFIT Epilepsy Seizure Alarm is designed to detect micro-movements associated with convulsive seizures in people diagnosed with epilepsy. The system comprises a thin sensor mat placed underneath the mattress, which senses abnormal movements over a pre-set delay period, and triggers an alarm.

The EMFIT epilepsy bed alarm monitors nocturnal seizures in sleeping adults and children, who are at risk of a convulsive tonic-clonic seizure. It raises an alarm when a person has a seizure and if they leave the bed without returning within a preset time.
Can this alarm help prevent sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP)?
The Emfit epilepsy bed sensor alarm may be able to help prevent SUDEP by alerting a family member if a person with seizures sleeps over, so they can assist with emergency care.
