How to Become an Insurance Agent
Washington Insurance Licensing Requirements: People who want to get an insurance license within the state of Washington:

1. Be at least eighteen (eighteen) years old. 2. Be a permanent resident of Washington. 3. Have completed at least one hundred (100) hours of community or technical-vocational education, and have completed at least ninety-five (95) hours of work experience within the last five (5) years.

Applicants should have at least a high school diploma and at least sixty-five (65) hours of community or vocational education. Applicants who are currently serving a sentence for a felony or are subject to a restraining order are not eligible for licenses. A criminal record will be required as well as a complete health and life history.

The Washington State Department of Insurance License Examination is held two or three times each year. You may take the exam in person or take the test online. There is no age limit on taking the exam.

The exam is offered online through the State Department of Insurance License Examination. It can be taken in the applicant's home state or it can also be taken online. Both methods of taking the exam is effective for anyone who wishes to pursue a Washington insurance license.

The exam covers all of the areas that you will be tested on if you want to pursue an insurance license in Washington. It is also important to know that there are a number of books that are available to help with the exam. One such book is "The State of Washington Insurance License". It is available from the Department of Licensing and Insurance.

Once you pass the exam, you will be issued a license to practice insurance in Washington. You can then take the exam again to increase your knowledge and become a better insurance agent.

Once you get your license, you will have to keep it active. You must report any changes in your address or your license number to the Department of Licensing and Insurance. Failure to do so can lead to the suspension or revocation of your license.

After you become an agent, you can continue to work as an agent at the same company that you were before, but you may be asked to start learning about the state insurance licensing rules. You will need to complete an additional state license exam after you have passed the state test and have been an active agent at the same company for two years.

Becoming an insurance agent in Washington does not require any special training, and it is one of the least expensive professions. if you choose to become one. It does require some training though, and experience working for a licensed company.
