Annabelle Costumes for Real-Life Haunted Dolls from Conjuring and Annabelle: Home Movies
It doesn't matter if you want to dress as Annabelle the evil doll in the Conjuring movies or just want something creepy and spooky for Halloween. A doll costume is an excellent choice. While the movie version of the character is scary, there are also haunted real-life dolls available that will give you chills. These real-life dolls that are possessed may not look like the porcelain dolls in the movies, but still have a terrifying effect.

The Conjuring, Annabelle and other horror movies have made the doll an icon of terror. It has inspired audiences worldwide to fear. Annabelle Creation by Gary Dauberman, as well as the newest installment Annabelle Comes Home have all been spin-offs based on the cursed doll. How many of those haunted artifacts are actually based off real stories, as paranormal researchers assert? Which of the scariest objects in Hollywood films were mere Hollywood ploys designed to create a quick jump-scare?

New Line Cinema produced the movies and we asked experts who studied the supernatural for help in answering these questions. Here's what the experts had to say on which spooky items are genuine and which were just filmmakers playing a prank.

In the latest Annabelle installment, Daniela's (Katie Sarife), sees the werewolf paw being attacked by a friend. Spera confirms that there is no such werewolf claw in the Occult Museum. Instead, the paw was a possible reference to a London werewolf case on which Ed and Lorraine Warren wrote Werewolves: The True Story of Demonic Possession.

A fictional television set appears in the film. It turns on whenever someone looks at its screen. This TV is visible in the movie as Daniela tries communicating with her dead dad through the museum’s mourning band. Spera states that this TV was most likely invented to make a joke about the Warrens’ experience with their haunted house mirror.

Annabelle Comes Home contains a powerful white wedding gown that was discovered by the Occult Museum Connecticut. The dress is thought to have belonged to a bride that was murdered in the early twentieth century. Spera confirms that this white wedding dress does not exist in the Museum, however he noted that there is a similar gown.

To bring Annabelle's life for Halloween this year, we recommend an officially licensed Annabelle Costume. This includes the dolls long, white dress and wig with red and white ribbons, as well as a cardboard Miss You card glued behind the doll.
