Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free's media venture pgLang has been the subject of a lot of questions since its launch in 2020 with only an identity and a website. Now the creative firm that blurs the boundaries between art, music and fashion is making its first foray into merchandise with an eight-piece campaign for Calvin Klein. The creative team at pgLang transforms a campaign for fashion with short films that are composed and directed by Free. They also feature the work of some of Los Angeles’ most inspiring creative voices. From dancer Mecca Allah to actors Baby Keem, Travis Bennett, Ryan Destiny and Keith Powers to positivity guru Amber Wagner and comedian vlogger Exavier, each artist's one-minute clip never takes itself or the brand too seriously.
The pgLang website offers several styles of shirts such as crew necks, v-necks and long sleeves in slim or relaxed fits and a range of weights for fabrics. However, it's the hats that truly make the company stand out. With pglangmerch of styles including a simple embroidered pgLang LA text to a six-panel cap with an adjustable hook and loop closure, the selection includes styles for women, men and kids in sizes XS to 5XL. Most hats are available in black and solid colors with some featuring moisture-wicking technology.
The website of pglang also sells a limited amount of backpacks branded with pgLang as well as five-panel hats that cost $50. The pgLang merchandise collection was created in conjunction with the creative agency Unboxed Media and is printed with ethically-sourced materials. T-shirts are manufactured by a team of workers in the United States and Canada and shipped directly to you.
