Princess Elizabeth believes that the only way she can save her country from the Seven Deadly Sins, the legendary knights of traitors, is by destroying them.


Before the Christian period the seven deadly sins were a group of negative qualities that were recognized by the ancient Greek philosophers and Roman theologians. The first reference to this concept can be located in the Nicomachean Ethics by Aristotle, where he lists various superior qualities or virtues, as well as their corresponding vices. The list includes: covetousness of sloth, acedia, pride anger or wrath jealousy of spiritual things and greed.


These are grouped together because they are able to degrade and harm each other. Acedia and sloth, for example, undermine virtues such as self-control, courage and temperance, while greed and avarice can weaken the faith and love. The definition of the most fatal sins was developed by the early Christians who believed that human beings are susceptible to temptations of evil such as pride or arrogance and envy. These were considered to be the most serious threats to human happiness since they could lead to sinful behaviours and ultimately destruction.



In the middle ages the church's teachings emphasized the seven sins in the form of a circle made up of animals, with each representing the sin of a different animal which was: toad is avarice; snake represents pride; lion = anger; snail is gluttony; goat is lust; and peacock = vanity. In reality, only pride and anger were generally accepted as part of the doctrines of the church. The church didn't consider other sins like covetousness and acedia to be sufficient to warrant specific punishment or repression.
