Minecraft film'set to hit silver screen'

The block-building game Minecraft which is wildly popular, may soon be made into a film.
Minecraft creator Markus Persson revealed this week that the game's maker was talking to Warner Brothers about the project.
Mr Persson claimed he disclosed the details to deter an individual who tried to leaked information about the transaction.
Movie news site Deadline said that one of the producers for the Lego Movie is in charge of the project.

Deadline reported that Warner was looking to create an animated film based on an "live-action" version.
The film is in its early stages, as Warner has just purchased the rights for Minecraft's iconic characters monsters, blocks, and blocks.
This announcement comes less than two months after Mojang, Minecraft creator, has shut down a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to create a film that was based on the game.
Hollywood has a history of remaking popular games for film. Many projects never make it to the stage of production.
For instance, a film set in the science-fictional Halo universe has been in the works for nine years, yet filming hasn't yet to begin despite multiple scripts being written.
Similar films that are based on Bioshock, Gears of War and Metal Gear Solid Work have all been talked about but none has yet begun filming.
One game that is being made into a movie is World of Warcraft, filming began in January of this year, with British director Duncan Jones in charge. The film is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2016.
