Article content JERUSALEM - The Israeli military claims to have destroyed a rocket launcher in Syria in response to two missiles that sank into the Sea of Galilee.
Article content The army stated in a statement late Wednesday that the area that was around the rocket launcher was targeted by Israeli artillery.

The rockets appeared to be as if they were errant fire from clashes among rebel groups and government forces in Syria near the border with Israel.

Article content The military states in an announcement that it "will take action against any attempt to undermine Israeli sovereignty or the security of its civilians."
This week, earlier this week, the Israeli military shot down a Syrian fighter jet it claimed had violated Israeli airspace. Israel also activated its aerial defence system on Monday in response to missiles fired by Syria.
