According to a rumor the third stall in the girls toilet located on the third floor of Kamome Academy has a spirit that grants wishes to those who have valuables. Nene Yashiro, a freshman Kamome Academy student, discovers this rumor and decides to call Hanako-san from the Toilet in order to fulfill her dream of an alleged boyfriend. It turns out that Hanako isn't a woman according to the rumor. Hanako is a man. She is spiritually connected to Hanako as she discovers more about his. Together, animeclothings battle evil supernaturals as well as change the rumors about them and eliminate the devil. This is a way to maintain the harmony between mortals and spirits.
It was a joy to catch an insight into the enchanting world of Toilet-Bound Hanako Kun. It's a charming and frightening manga with a distinct style that is able to blend several different angles of atmospheric. The style of art is adorable and eerie, but the body language and expressions of the characters convey the feeling of urgency and danger. The film is full of supernatural action and hijinks, but it also focuses on Nene's relationships and personal development. Mental health issues too are dealt with.
It's not a surprise that this manga is so well-known. The story is so complex and fascinating. The ending of the series disappointed me. The last volume was a smack however, it wasn't as satisfying emotionally as it could have been. This was especially true for Kou and Mitsuba's plot.
I was delighted to find out that the series has a few fresh and exciting chapters. It is a must to check them out. I'm looking forward to seeing what Toilet-Bound Hanako will have to offer!
