Like Minecraft Dungeons, Legends is creating new mobs that are compatible with Minecraft.

Magnus Nedfors, Minecraft Legends creator and director, as well as Dennis Ries, executive producer met at the Xbox booth livestream last week to talk about some details about Legends. They also provided information about new mobs that are both friends and foe. Like its previous genre experimentations, Mojang and Blackbird Interactive's upcoming RTS spinoff is set to create its own unique mark on the Minecraft world. Dungeons broke the rules of Minecraft legend to create mobs that would fit its action RPG world and Legends is doing it too.
The main villains in Minecraft Legends are the familiar Nether denizens, known as the Piglins. The Piglins were revealed in the trailer's first trailer. While we're all familiar with Piglins and Hoglins in Vanilla Minecraft, Legends is adding a "Pigmadillo," which crouches down into a cube, and contrary to what you'd think based on the physics of a cube, offensively rolls towards what it's aiming at. Ries also mentions that there are "Bruisers" which come with two razor blades. Bit horror-esque, innit? The latest trailer for Mojang's film in cinematic form features mobs of both kinds.
On the side of friendship there are two kinds of golem that will join your ranks: the Cobblestone Golem, who is believed to be excellent at taking down enemy structures, and what it sounds like Ries calls the "Plank Golem" which is an armed unit that can be ranged. You can also utilize speed wheat and a special mushroom to jump up to a higher level to travel across the globe and unlock new Legends areas.
Minecraft Dungeons also introduced new mobs like the Iceologers or Mountaineers. The Minecraft Live 2020 fan vote to choose which mob to add Vanilla Minecraft to Vanilla Minecraft included the Iceologers. They lost to Glow Squid but I wouldn't mind seeing one of these Legends baddies get the same chance at Vanilla Mine fame.
In case you didn't realize, there is badgers in the trailer as well. Project Badger was the codename for Minecraft Legends before it was disclosed, which might be all it takes to make a reference to. It could even be granted official mob status.
