His appearance is a mock turtleneck sweater of a light violet color, dark green overalls and orange elf-shoes. He wears a golf cap in a light purple color, which usually has an upside-down "L" on the front. Waluigi is completed with a pair yellow gloves.

Waluigi made his first appearance as a Trophy, Sticker and Assist Trophy for Super Smash Bros. Melee. In the original game and subsequent sequels, he is also playable. In the sequel, he can be played as a character who increases the attack power of moves using blades or claws. It is the first time that he has been played alongside other characters, besides Wario.
