Danzig merchandise includes t-shirts and collectibles. Danzig is renowned for their unique horror punk style that blends punk and other musical influences with horror movie themes and images. Glenn Danzig, vocalist, keyboardist and songwriter, formed the group in 1977 at Lodi in New Jersey. The band's lineup was always changing, but Danzig was the only steadfast participant throughout its time. The Misfits are recognized as progenitors of the horror punk sub-genre and their music has been influential to numerous bands in the genre.
The band signed two drummers and a bassist in 1982, but they did not release an album until 1984. In the same year, they released "Horror Business", with a cover that featured the skeleton of a character that became their famous brand mascot.
Danzig started the Fiend Club from the basement of his mother's house, printing silkscreen T-shirts, making vinyl records, mailing catalogs and arranging shows for the group. The band began recording new songs to be included on an album. Three songs were picked from the session in August 1980 and were released as 3 Hits From Hell by the band in 1981.

Doyle escorted him off stage while Todd Swalla of the Necros filled in for the remainder of the performance.
