Bo Burnham Fans Merchandise
After Bo Burnham's popular Netflix special aired earlier this month, the comic put out a collection of uncut scenes from the show. There was also boburnhammerch rebuke of Marvel Studios at the end. The comedian has gone one step further by releasing his own merchandise.


The "Inside Studios Store", which is a collection of real items, includes caps and t-shirts that bear the logo of the original special. Each item has a tongue-in-cheek description that makes it feel like it came from one of Burnham's snake-oil salesman characters who spoke about corporate accountability in the first special. It's safe to say that the everything is tongue-in-cheek. However, it's also an interesting method for Burnham to make money from his hugely successful show.


As a fan of the show we're certain you're familiar with the idea of Inside Studios, which was essentially the production company Burnham was able to establish to produce the 2021 Netflix comedy special. The show was developed in the basement of his apartment as he was in quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic which included an assortment of comedy short songs and sketches that dealt with every day life. It was both critically and commercially successful. The show pushed the boundaries for what can be considered as safe comedy.


Burnham was determined to provoke not just laughter from his audience however, he also wanted to provoke emotional responses. This is a theme that runs in his work, and is probably that is the reason some students protested his appearances.


Burnham performs "All Eyes On Me" before an audience recorded as Burnham talks about his depression and anxiety. Burnham then entices spectators into saying the f-word to him, and the song ends with him shouting in frustration at the audience members.


It's difficult not to get impressed by a comedian who is able to simultaneously entertain you and tug at your heart strings. And this is exactly the kind of thing Burnham has managed to do with his latest release. It's therefore likely that the merchandise is likely to be a hit with his fans.



The most important part of any line of merch, however, is the design--and this one isn't lacking. The minimalist t-shirts and hoodies feature the quaint Inside logo on the front, and stunning images from the finale of the film on the back.
