Minecraft: Education Edition is available for anyone to try at no cost! The trial trial is fully functional, however it has limitations on the number of logins (10 for students and 25 for teachers) that can be used before the purchase of a license to continue playing.

Purchase Minecraft Education Edition for Teachers and Students
You will need to have your IT Admin buy licenses for students and you through the Microsoft Admin Center. If you have an Office 365 subscription, you might already have access to licenses through your school (through the volume licensing agreement).
M:EE is part of many volume license agreements. However, only school administrators are able to assign and manage these licenses. If you have an Office 365 account, check with your school's administrator or IT administrator prior to purchasing M.E. directly.
