The Boston-based band Ice Nine Kills has taken their gritty brand of metalcore to a new stage with their new album. Welcome to Ice Nine Kills Boxers is the follow-up to the previous album, The Silver Scream, and it continues their ode to pop culture horror flicks.
The band's stage performances, innovative videos and interaction with the fans have created an atmosphere of excitement for an ever-growing fan base. Their live show is an all-encompassing celebration of the horror genre in all its various twisted varieties. They're a musical combination of hell that draws positive comparisons to Slipknot and Rob Zombie.
After having perfected their brand and sound appeal with 2018's The Silver Scream, a deliberate ode to pop-culture horror flicks, Ice Nine Kills has seen an increase in attendance at concerts, merchandise sales, and online streaming. It's not hard to understand the reason.
The group's scene-leaning position obliges them to make bigger sacrifices in the areas of polish and melody but not at the cost of the heaviness or gimmicks, which makes this genre so enjoyable. On tracks such as Funeral Derangements or Rainy Day it's clear that the band doesn't intend to conform to po-faced Metalcore norms. It's to their credit they are aware of that.
In the aftermath of a natural catastrophe that has destroyed Queensland, Australian state of Queensland the band Ice Nine Kills have released the shirt, with all proceeds going to help in relief efforts. The shirt was designed by the artist Matty Mo, the t-shirt is available for purchase from their official website and will be available through September 28.
