Minecraft is an immensely popular video game, with more than 170 million copies sold across the world
A virtual library containing restricted content from all over the world has been created within the hugely popular video game Minecraft by the press freedom group Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
Minecraft's pixelated graphics allow players to create entire worlds by using digital blocks that look Lego-like.
RSF claimed it had put work by exiled, detained or killed journalists in five countries -five countries - Egypt, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Vietnam -on an open server, making it available to players to view , despite local censorship laws.
The group issued a press release stating that Minecraft is still accessible to everyone in these countries, with blogs, websites, and free press in general, in the form of a press release.
"These articles are now available again within Minecraft, hidden from government surveillance technology within the game's computer. It stated that the books can be accessed by anyone who is on the server, but they cannot be altered in any way.
Minecraft reported that 176 million copies have been sold since the game's inception a decade ago.
The "Uncensored Library" project was announced on Thursday to commemorate the World Day Against Cyber Censorship. It takes the shape of a massive neoclassical structure in the game.
RSF stated that the library was expanding and that more texts were being added in English along with their original languages.

Already available in the game are articles by killed Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and from Egyptian online newspaper Mada Masr, which has been banned in the North African country since 2017.
