Gengar is an eerie home accessory that was adapted from the Pokemon franchise. Premium Bandai is a Japanese merchandise maker has launched a pillow and a blanket with the names of Ghost and Poison Pokemon. The product was the subject of a lot of attention after being discovered by Pokemon merchandise site Pokeshopper. It's easy to see the reason. Gengar's pillow is something to behold. It's got a 170-centimeter tongue that is able to be stretched out to create a mattress-like surface.


Premium Bandai is still offering a handful of Gengar plush toys available for purchase through their site. The Gengar plush is on sale for purchase at 25,950 Japanese yen, which is roughly 250 US dollars. The pillows sold out fast and was not a surprise. The pillow was available for a brief period before it was gone. There's no information as of yet on when a new batch of pillows could be made available.


The Gengar pillow has received mixed feedback from its fans. Some have wondered if it's comfortable to lie on, while others consider it disturbing. In the commercial the model is seen sleeping on the Gengar pillow. He puts his head inside the mouth of the Pokemon and closes it around his head. The model is seen turning off the lights prior to going to sleep. A lot of people on Twitter have made fun of the product, pointing out the odd design. One person even claimed it was "pretttty frightening."


P-Bandai isn't the only one to launch a bizarre Pokemon-themed product. The company previously released the Metapod sleeper bag as well as a Ditto couch chair. But Gengar Pillow is the most bizarre of them all. Gengar pillow is perhaps the most bizarre among them all.



The site Premium Bandai is available only in Japanese however, those looking to incorporate the Gengar theme to their homes can purchase one. The company hasn't yet made a public announcement about whether it will offer Gengar pillows that are available outside of Japan. However those interested should be on the lookout for updates at the Pokeshopper website for news on the availability of the product. P-Bandai may release additional similar products in the near future, given the popularity Pokemon is becoming.
