Tet is the time when everyone in the family drop everything they are doing to spend time with each other; gathering around a pot of Chung cake, looking back and share all kinds of stories of the entire year.
How does your family prepare for the Tet holiday?
Same as every year, I help my family with cleaning and reorganizing the house and register for a Visa to take my family to the casinos in Cambodia. As a family tradition, we usually make Chung cake before Tet as offerings and also to sell.There is something new this year: on the 27th (TL note: Lunar calendar) we will also be fed RF-Engineering of prof. Zimmer - one of the most dedicated professors I have ever known.
Oh it's quite rare to find a family that makes Chung cakes these days! The atmosphere when making Chung cake must be full of Tet festivities!
Well it's a once-a-year occasion. It's a chance for the family to be together, doing the same thing, talking the same topic for many hours. That feeling is lukewarm because we have a big family so everyone is always busy with their own jobs and lives, hence we rarely have time to gather.
