story overview: Four English siblings are sent to a large, historic country house owned by an old professor during WW2 bombings of London, so they would be safe. One rainy day, the children take the opportunity to go explore the house, they peek into spare bedrooms and old passageways. Lucy (one of the four kids) stumbles upon an empty room with only a rather large wardrobe leaning on one of the four walls. She walks into it, pushing past the fur coats, and it surprisingly takes her to a mysterious land called Narnia. Mr. Tumnus was the first person Lucy meets and he's also a fuan- a creature that is human from the waist up and a goat from the waist down. Lucy goes with the fuan for some tea and stays with him for what it seems like hours. Mr. Tumnus explains that the evil White Witch, who has casted a spell over Narnia so that its always winter, but they never have Christmas. He guides Lucy back to the lamp-post and she quickly pushes back the fur coats, and goes to find her siblings. Of course the others didn't believe her and they insist that Lucy has only been gone for seconds, and not for hours as she claims. The next day Edmund sees Lucy vanish into the wardrobe and Edmund follows, and finds himself in Narnia too. Lucy tries to tell Edmund about the White Witch, but he is too caught up in magic of it all he just zoned out. The Witch remembers the prophecy about them and holds Edmund (younger brother to Peter and Susan, and older brother to Lucy) captive. The king of the Beasts, Aslan, is executed by the Witch. He is resurrected when Lucy cries on him, and he helps fight back against the White Witch and her army. Fortunately, Aslan swiftly kills the Witch and Peter's army then defeats the Witch's followers. To quickly summarize the ending, the four children become kings and queens of Narnia until they find their way back home.
