Canadian decide quits over misconduct claims from Arizona resort incident
A Canadian Supreme Court justice has resigned from his position following allegations of misconduct, based on the Canadian Justice Council. A police report filed in January said that a US Marine Corps veteran claimed Brown touched a female visitor without consent and was subsequently punched “a few times” throughout an argument. Jonathan Crump, a 31-year-old mortgage adviser and US Army veteran, advised The Vancouver Sun that Brown harassed his feminine pal after assembly him in the resort bar late on January 28.
Following the publication of the story, Brown launched a statement in response to what he referred to as “false statements within the media by Mr Jonathan Crump.” He confirmed parts of Crump’s account, stating that he joined the group on the desk but “did not speak or in any other case have interaction with him.” The Canadian Justice Council introduced in March that it was reviewing a grievance into Brown’s alleged conduct.
On Astonishing , the Canadian Justice Council acknowledged that since Brown was not a choose, its jurisdiction over the grievance against him had ended. “As such, proceedings before the Council that involve Justice Brown have come to an end,” it stated.
Brown’s lawyer, Brian Gover, shared an announcement from the judge on Monday, saying the allegations had been “false” and he had “hoped this issue would be distributed shortly and would not significantly influence the Court’s enterprise,” however that has not been the case. The assertion from Brown continued, “While my counsel and I are confident that the criticism would have finally been dismissed, the continuing delay is in nobody’s interests – the Court’s, the public’s, my family’s or my own.”
