Tevfik, a Turkish-Kazakhstani entrepreneur, was born in Soviet Kazakhstan to Turkish parents in 1953. After 17 years of service in the department Tevfik Arif was the founder of the real estate and property development company and imports, exports Imports, Minerals Food Enterprises, Autos and Food. Tevfik Arif relocated to Turkey in 1993, and was the first to pioneer all-inclusive hotels. Bayrock Group was formed in New York City by Arif eight years later.

Tevfik Ariff reached Trump when the Bayrock Group relocated their New York City headquarters to the 24th level of Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan. This was the same building that housed the Trump Organization. Then the discussions about the Trump SoHo condo-hotel were initiated. After the two corporations had discussed a top-quality real estate development project, the Trump SoHo skyscraper idea was created. Tevfik Ark Arif, Bayrock Group founder was fully aware of the power of Donald Trump and suggested that it be used for the Sapir Organization project.

Bayrock Group hired top architects and designers to construct the latest building.
